Our 1 Community is a forward-looking organisation with the community at its heart. We believe that everyone should live in a community they can be proud of, be given the choice to make far reachinhg ripples of change, and be given the chance to make a better life for themselves and their families.
What We Do
Our work spans across creative empowerment, social justice, and accessibility.
With projects that are always bold, hands-on, and rooted in the realities of our neighborhoods, we build a vast community of volunteers and service users who drive the social change they want to see.
About
Our1Community
We create youth-led social change.
By supporting young people as they navigate their next steps in life, we empower them to address the issues that matter most in today’s complex world. Through creative, inclusive programs, we provide the tools and space for young people to turn their aspirations into reality.
Our foundation is built on three pillars:
-
Environment: Hands-on education and conservation for sustainable living
-
Ability: Inclusion and empowerment for those with additional needs
-
Social Change: Grassroots leadership driven by youth voices
Our Commitment
Safety, Sustainability, and Responsibility
We prioritise the safety and well-being of everyone involved in our work. All staff are fully DBS-checked and trained to Level 3 in safeguarding. We maintain public, employer’s, and indemnity insurance to ensure a secure environment for staff, partners, and participants.
We follow strong data protection practices to safeguard personal information and respect privacy. As a green organisation, we are proud holders of the Bronze Investors in the Environment Award, recognising our commitment to minimising environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices.
Our Programmes
One Academy
Empowering the Next Generation
One Academy, in partnership with The Enterprise Academy, helps young people succeed with qualifications, life skills, and practical experience. We support NEET, homeschooled, SEND, and mainstream learners as they move confidently into adult life.
Spotlight
Supporting Young Musicians
Spotlight is for young artists aged 14–25 entering the music industry. Through paid gigs, tours, mentoring, and workshops, we help them grow their skills and turn their talent into a career.

For Sustainable Change
GreenSteps builds future sustainability leaders. Young people learn to repair, reuse, and recycle while taking part in real conservation projects that make a lasting environmental impact.
Dont Dis My Ability

This programme supports young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to explore self-employment and meaningful work. We offer training, guidance, and tools to help them build confidence and financial independence.

A Note from Our CEO
We believe that real change happens when people come together around a shared vision of better lives and stronger communities.
At Our 1 Community, we’re proud to be the beating heart of that mission. We’re led by the people we serve. We listen to communities, amplify young voices, and build programs that are rooted in lived experience.
Environment, creativity, and equality are not buzzwords for us they are values we live by. They guide every decision we make and every project we launch.

Social Change:

For Young People

One of our key programmes, Don’t Dis My Ability, empowers young people with SEND by:
Providing tailored work experience and training
Supporting self-employment and access to work funding
Offering disability consultancy and accessibility audits
Helping participants become financially independent and confident
